Crossroads

Dear Readers,

When one goes on a long journey, it is inevitable that one will reach a crossroad eventually. At the crossroad, a decision has to be made as to which direction to take.

Since I have reached that crossroad, at the same time as I feel a little weary, it seems prudent to sit a while and think about which direction to take from here.

Consequently, instead of writing here on the blog, I think it is the right time for me to keep my own counsel and rest a bit with my thoughts.

Once I've sat in the sun a bit and pondered on my own, I hope to return here refreshed and ready to share my thoughts again with you.

In the meantime, best wishes to you all.

  1. Vesta, I understand the need to take a step back from the blogosphere but I hope you aren't gone too long.

    Take care

  2. I leave for two measly weeks and the blogsphere falls apart???(kidding of course) sigh... good luck Vesta I wish you well.

    I leave with you the immortal thoughts of Robert Frost.

    Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
    And sorry I could not travel both
    And be one traveler, long I stood
    And looked down one as far as I could
    To where it bent in the undergrowth;
    Then took the other, as just as fair
    And having perhaps the better claim,
    Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
    Though as for that, the passing there
    Had worn them really about the same,

    And both that morning equally lay
    In leaves no step had trodden black
    Oh, I kept the first for another day!
    Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
    I doubted if I should ever come back.

    I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
    two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
    I took the one less traveled by,
    And that has made all the difference.

  3. Aurore: Thank you for your thoughts, and no, I won't be away too long at all.

    Sir J: You made me smile. Well, I can't do anything about the others but I assure you that I'll be back before you've finished your last chocolate croissant. A girl can only ponder for so long on her own; well, this girl, anyhow.

    A big hug to you for leaving me this poem. I began reading it out to my husband and got all choked up. Indeed, I too choose the road less travelled, and soon I will write of my new discoveries; "and that has made all the difference."

    Enjoy your holiday my friend; you'll be back putting me through my hoops before you know it!

  5. Decisions are a challenge. And change... more scary than a caning. I look forward to hear about your new road. We all learn from each other's explorations. Meanwhile, have a good trip - and send postcards!

  6. Florida Dom: It was kind of you to take the time to send me this message. My heartfelt thanks.

    OG: My trip led me further and further down the road of submission, in fact. Yes, that was scary but I can't tell you how much better I feel having made the journey.

  7. Sometimes we need to peek down the other roads to confirm that the one we've been in was the correct choice in the first place. I envy you the option of such a submissive life.
